How do I upload files in the Playground?

You can give a model something to look at — such as an image or a PDF — directly in the Playground.

1. In the composer, select Upload File and choose your file.
2. Add a prompt about it, such as "Summarize this document" or "What's in this image?"
3. Select Submit. The model uses the file as part of the conversation, so you can keep asking follow-up questions about it.

Make sure the model you've selected supports the kind of file you're attaching — for example, image or document understanding. For supported file types, size limits, and how files work in the API, see Files and Image understanding in the developer documentation.
