What is Contributor mode in Muse Code?

Muse Code subscriptions default to Contributor mode. In Contributor mode, you get more usage from your plan in exchange for letting Meta use your content — the prompts, code, files, and context you send, plus the model responses you get back — to train future Meta models.

Contributor mode isn't available to accounts with Zero Data Retention (ZDR).

How do I turn Contributor mode off?

Contributor mode is a setting in Muse Code, and you can turn it off at any time, at which point your future content is not used to train Meta models (unless you turn it back on in your settings).

To turn Contributor mode off or back on, open /settings in Muse Code.

Turning Contributor mode off changes how much usage you get from your plan. It doesn't change which plan you're on.

How is this different from Contributor mode on Meta Model API?

In Muse Code, you don't choose a model to use Contributor mode: it's a setting that applies to your subscription. On Meta Model API, you use Contributor mode by calling a model's Contributor-mode variant instead. See How do I use Contributor mode on Meta Model API?.

How Meta uses your content is described in the Meta Model API Terms of Service.
